Mrs.Dunphy welcomes her interns Grammy Gigi and Miss Robbins to the art room this year, as well as our new little friend, Arty, the gecko! We've also said hello and goodbye to two monarch butterfly caterpillars, Cody and Magellun, as we watched them transorm into chrysalises and then turn into butterflies. One class actually got to witness the first butterfly slip out of its chrysalis and pump fluid into its wings!!
We quickly released the butterflies back outside so that they could start their long trek to the Oyamel fir trees of Mexico. But during their short stay here, we created a Terrarium that houses various plants and now, Arty the gecko! Reptile Riley's mom donated the cute little guy so that the art room could have a pet!
